Everyone Knows Too Much Anyway
Verse 1: I'm awakened by the racket from a gallery of thieves
Each one proclaims his innocence... Not even he believes
Each one has a true story...It'll never see the light of day
And everyone knows too much anyway
Verse 2: Down in the malls of Babylon they're wearing Chinese shoes
And sipping on Italian spring water, exchanging all-American views
Some say the wind is shifting, some say it blows the same old way
I say everyone knows too much anyway
Verse 3: Now Moses, he stands speechless there before that burning shrub
That told him “Go and tell my people of this overpowering love”
It's a good thing he was speechless cause what he wanted to say
Is everyone knows too much anyway
Verse 4: The Keeper has the muscle and he's got a silver spoon
Which reminds me of the hollow on the dark side of the moon
Well the Keeper likes the darkness just like the sunshine loves the day
And everyone knows too much anyway
Verse 5: The Wise Man asks the seeker “Hey now what you trying to pull?
Asking me to fill your cup of tea when it's already full
You just come back when it's empty. You come back another day!
Everyone knows too much anyway
Verse 6: In this age of information, in this ever-changing world
We all go in endless circles... every boy and girl
But hunger leaves a gaping hole where we just want to play
And everyone knows too much anyway
Verse 7: Now the children gather round and Papa kills the fatted calf
In honor of the one that went off half-cocked for a laugh
They never thought they'd witness such an honor for a stray
Everyone knows too much anyway
Verse 8: Now the gallery is nervous, they're getting ready for the show
They all start laying blame and claiming all how much they know
Somebody needs to tell them that old dog has had his day
But everyone knows too much
Everyone knows too much
Everyone knows too much anyway
