A little about myself...
I've been writing songs for about 50 years. I have always loved music and songs, and have admired the work of many songwriters, singers and musicians, as well as the engineers and producers who brought their work to us. All of these I would call influences, and you may be able to hear them in my music.
As a songwriter, however, there is only one who I would say inspired me, and that is Bob Dylan. He showed me at a very early age that the song could be an art form for communicating at a higher level, things that could not be said briefly and clearly in other, more linear forms. Like a dream you wake up from and you can't quite put your finger on, but you feel like you found out something you didn't know before.
I don't write a lot of love songs. It's not because I haven't loved or don't think that it's important. It's because I've been preoccupied with an overwhelming sense of impending doom. But it's a sense that is tempered by an optimism that this doom is the first step required for us to undergo a marvelous transformation from what is known as "human nature", to a higher kind of life we were always destined to live.
This brings me to another person who has inspired me; Archie Inger. He is not a musician. He is a medium and you can get one of his books from the page on this site titled "The Book", where I talk about this a little more.
Beyond that, I don't have a lot to say about myself. You will find sixteen of my songs on this site that you can listen to. If you'd like to purchase any of them, they're available on CD Baby. I'm working on another group of songs that I'll be releasing soon, so please stay tuned.
