I want to share something with you besides my songs. It's a book I found many years ago as I was opening up to some ideas that I had previously rejected.
I was brought up in the Lutheran Church, but by the time I was about twelve, I had come to the conclusion that all this stuff they were telling me about God and Jesus was nonsense. As I matured, I began reading things like "Why I Am Not A Christian" by Bertrand Russell. I guess I was an atheist.
But then, for reasons that I can't easily explain, I began to think that there may be a reality that is outside or beyond the material world. I started looking at the work of Allen Watts like "The Way of Zen", and the writings of Parmahansa Yogananda. This led to a general interest in comparative religion, which , some time later, brought me back to revisit Christianity.
With this in mind, I was in a used book store looking for a book called "Science And Health With A Key To The Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, the founder of Christian Science. I found a copy, and coincidentally, next to it on the shelf was a book called "The Revealed Translation of John's Revelation". I bought both books. I never read Mary Baker Eddy's.
The Revealed Translation was written in 1908 by Archie J. Inger. Archie never started a religion or formed any other kind of organization, and claimed no credit for this or any of his other writings; only one of which was even copyrighted. The introduction to the book begins: "I the Lord Jesus Christ am the writer of this book by revelation through this medium, Archie Inger." I think the book is exactly what it says it is and that is why I am making it available for anyone to read by simply downloading it here.
